Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Principal & Vice Principal Recruitment 2026 Notification for 828 vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online through the UPSC Online portal before the last date.
UPSC Principal & Vice Principal 2026 Important Dates
The online application process started on 25 July 2026. The last date to apply online and pay the application fee is 14 August 2026. Candidates can print the final application form until 21 August 2026.
UPSC Principal & Vice Principal Vacancy 2026
A total of 828 vacancies have been announced including 124 Principal posts and 704 Vice Principal posts. Category-wise vacancy details are available in the official notification.
UPSC Principal & Vice Principal Eligibility
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree from a recognized University. Principal posts require 10 years teaching or administrative experience, while Vice Principal posts require the prescribed teaching experience as mentioned in the official notification.
UPSC Principal & Vice Principal Age Limit
The maximum age limit is 50 years for Principal posts and 35 years for Vice Principal posts as on 14 August 2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per UPSC recruitment rules.
UPSC Recruitment 2026 Application Fee
General, OBC and EWS candidates need to pay ₹25 as the application fee. SC, ST, PwBD and Female candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

Selection may include shortlisting, recruitment test, interview, document verification and medical examination depending on UPSC recruitment rules.
